NGAL overview
Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is a small
molecule protein expressed in neutrophils. NGAL is expressed in
renal tubular epithelial cells in large quantities within 2 hours
of acute kidney injury and released into urine and blood. , And
obviously increase when combined with sepsis, with the
characteristics of rapid response, high specificity, and little
influence by other factors. Therefore, it is used as an early
sensitive biomarker of acute kidney injury, and it can also play a
predictive role in the diagnosis of sepsis. High concentrations of
NGAL can be detected in the urine and blood of patients with
